In 2022, Lavonia Shields set out to make a difference in the lives of foster youth all throughout Northeast Ohio by providing them with all the tools, resources and support they need in order to shape them into the leaders of tomorrow. Joy's House of Love is on a mission to offering foster youth of the community a chance to reach their fullest potential.

Guiding Youth Towards Success
The Joy’s House of Love leadership team has 20 years of experience in foster care, 90+ years of experience in the healthcare system, 20+ Years of Christian ministry experience and 20+ years of experience in financial literacy. We have worked with the Independent Living Departments for both the Cuyahoga County and Lorain County foster care systems, and we personally supported dozens of youths through the foster system. We are uniquely positioned to implement a program quickly and efficiently. Our aim is for the youth within the program to learn to live independently while receiving the continued support necessary for successful transition into adulthood.
